Men Arrested In Ħamrun With 100 Sachets Of Cocaine To Appear In Court Today

Two men arrested in Ħamrun for drug trafficking yesterday will appear before the court later today where they will be formally accused of the crime.

After police received information of a 31-year-old Bormla resident and 26-year-old Valletta resident who were frequenting the streets of Triq Manuel Magri for illicit activities, officials began surveilling the area.

Yesterday at around 7am, the police witnessed the suspects arrive on the site with a car and motorbike. Officials stopped the men and carried out a searches where they found more than a hundred sachets of suspected cocaine.

A search was then carried out an apartment of one of the suspects where certain documents were discovered, according to the police. A different apartment in Mosta where one of the arrested frequented was also searched and authorities found more sachets of suspected cocaine and heroine as well as €20,000 in cash. 

Police investigations are currently ongoing and the men will be appearing in front of Magistrate Marse Ann Farrugia at 1pm.
