Watch: Crowd Barely Lets Metsola Speak As Chanting Erupts In Hall
EP President Roberta Metsola could barely get a word in as she walked into the Naxxar Counting Hall, with the crowd quickly circling her and chanting her name amidst reports that she might’ve broken a national record for the most votes ever gained by an MEP candidate.
Some reports have pointed at Metsola potentially getting twice the required votes to match the quota, with her triumphant arrival at the hall moments ago surely pointing at an extremely confident win.

After constantly chanting her name, supporters in the hall could also be heard loudly claiming their support of the Nationalist Party, which seems to have reduced the gap between parties to the smallest it’s been in over a decade.
In fact, Metsola ended up finally being able to give a statement to the media over half an hour after she actually walked into the hall.
Lovin Malta is live from the Naxxar Counting Hall all day today, so stay tuned for more updates as we get them.
