Watch: What Vote? TVM Switches From Counting Hall Livestream To US Game Show
PL and PN might both be celebrating their own version of an election win right now as the 2024 MEP votes continue to be tallied up… but according to Malta’s national broadcaster, the biggest winner right now is an enthusiastic American game show contestant called Matthew Smith.
TVM had been livestreaming updates from the Naxxar Counting Hall all morning, even managing to get the first reactions of Prime Minister Robert Abela after he announced Labour’s “comfortable victory” and even scenes from PN leader Bernard Grech and EP President Roberta Metsola’s arrivals in the hall.

However, after all of that was ready and with vote counting still very much underway (not even one of the six seats has technically been officially confirmed yet), TVM switched to a rerun of what seems to be a June 2021 episode of Press Your Luck, an American TV game show where contestants answer trivia questions to earn “spins” on a randomly cycling game board.
