MEP Hopeful James Ryder Releases His First Three Campaign Promises
Comedian James Ryder has released his first three promises after announcing he will contest the upcoming European Parliament election as an independent candidate.
After stunning the nation by announcing that his MEP run was not an April Fool’s joke, Ryder launched a website – www.seriouspolitician.com – to expand on his campaign.
It includes three key promises – “to listen, to learn, and to make you laugh” – as well as this quote from the man himself: ”A politician should represent the Common Man, there is no one more common than ME”.
Ryder has also confirmed two upcoming tours at MCAST and the University of Malta, in which he promises to “engage Malta’s youth with humour, policy talks, and direct interaction, inspiring a new wave of EU participation”.
Asked by Lovin Malta why he has thrown his hat into the ring, Ryder bluntly responded that he is contesting “because democracy allows me to”.
Ryder is the third person who has announced their intentions to contest the election as an independent candidate, joining Arnold Cassola and Żaren tal-Ajkla.
