Migrant Kicked Out Of Malta After Stealing Ħaż-Żebbuġ Local Councillor’s Bicycle

A Ghanian man is set to be deported out of Malta after pleading guilty to stealing a bike that belonged to a local councillor.

Daniel Appau, aged 30, appeared in court today accused of stealing a €2500 bicycle from  Ħaż-Żebbuġ local councillor Steve Zammit Lupi.

One News reported that Appau pleaded guilty and even returned the bicycle to Zammit Lupi, however Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras ordered his expulsion from the country.

After discovering that he had overstayed his residence permit, it has been decided that Appau will be deported from the island.

He was also handed a 13-month sentence suspended for two years.
