Minister Owen Bonnici Takes Over Lands Portfolio

Arts, Heritage and Local Government Minister Owen Bonnici confirmed that Prime Minister Robert Abela has entrusted him with responsibility of the lands portfolio.

Alison Zerafa Civelli will continue serving as parliamentary secretary for local councils within the ministry.

Meanwhile, former Lands Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi has been entrusted with responsibility over EU funds, which was previously under the Office of the Prime Minister. He will maintain responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the PL’s electoral manifesto.

In other changes, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri has been given responsibility of the National Development and Social Fund Agency, while Parliamentary Secretary for Social Dialogue Andy Ellul is now also in charge of the MCCAA.

Contrary to earlier media reports, there have been no changes to the tourism portfolio, which remains under the watch of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg.
