Minister’s Wife And European Commissioner’s Son Land Position On Government Committee
Rachelle Borg Dingli, the wife of Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg, and Luke Dalli, the son of European Commissioner and former minister Helena Dalli, have been appointed to a government committee.
According to information published in the Government Gazette, Borg Dingli and Dalli will sit on the Local Government Reform Steering Committee up until 20th July 2025.
The appointments came into effect on 1st September 2022.
Dalli, a former ONE TV presenter, has been a regular beneficiary of direct orders and government appointments under the Labour Party administration, which includes the Malta Arts Council, the Water Services Cooperation, the Lands Authority and the Economy Ministry.
Borg Dingli, meanwhile, is the co-owner of Barbajean and also previously served as the administrator for an Insignia Group charity which had to be put on hold after one of its companies drew the ire of authorities due to its anti-money laundering controls.
