Miriam Dalli Spotted Driving Into Girgenti As MPs Discuss Prime Minister’s Resignation
Labour MEP Miriam Dalli was this morning spotted driving into the Prime Minister’s official residence of Girgenti, where MPs have convened to discuss Joseph Muscat’s departure.
Dalli has long been named as a potential successor to Muscat and reports were also circling today that Dalli is being touted as a potential deputy leader, with Chris Fearne set to succeed Muscat.
Dalli yesterday said she feels angry and betrayed in light of recent developments surrounding the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
“Justice needs to happen, and it needs to be seen that it happens to everyone,” she said. “We need to protect our country first and foremost because this is the Malta and Gozo that we hope our children grow up in.”
“This is a difficult time. But I am convinced that together we can become strong again.”
Daphne’s son Matthew Caruana Galizia urged Dalli to speak openly about how she was wrong about Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and to acknowledge that she didn’t do anything to prevent his mother’s murder.
