‘Mission Accomplished!’: Steve Zammit Lupi Completes 41-Day Malta To Sweden Cycling Trip

Steve Zammit Lupi has successfully completed his 41-day cycling trip yesterday, taking him from the Maltese islands to Sweden!

“Mission accomplished!” Lupi announced on Facebook, “Malta to Stockholm, Sweden in 41 days! 36 riding days / 5 rest days / 4400km of cycling in Europe through six countries.”

Steve’s longest ride throughout the trip was that of 211km, while his shortest ride was 42km. Meanwhile, his average daily ride was around 120km.

He cycled through Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, where he carried his tent, just four changes of clothes, a sleeping bed, and a phone charger.

“I can’t believe the tour is ready. What a journey! Thanks to all who supported me along the way and followed the trip. I really appreciate it,” Lupi said on Facebook.

Steve belives that cycling is the best method to travel the world while keeping it eco-friendly and sustainable – and he truly practices what he preaches.

He has also contributed greatly to the local cycling movement, even helping to introduce the Żernieq bir-Rota initiative during his time as councillor for Ħaż-Żebbuġ’s local council.
