Mistaking Presenter For Rosianne Cutajar, PL Supporters Get Hopes Up For Comeback
A case of mistaken identity got several PL supporters excited that Rosianne Cutajar was all set to return to the party.
In a Facebook group for PL supporters, someone posted a photo of a woman’s face with the caption: “Welcome back, Rosianne – well done”.
Several people responded with glee at the belief that Cutajar was set for a comeback.
“Well done, you are a pillar in the Labour Party,” one man said.
“We love you, Rosianne,” someone else chimed in.
“Reason has triumphed… welcome, Rosianne,” another one said.
“The PN have always been like that. Lots of words but no evidence,” another one added.
Unfortunately for them, the woman in the photo was not Cutajar at all but rather Pauline Agius, a ONE TV presenter who presents a weekly home decoration show called Inhouse.
Once one of the PL’s most promising MPs, Cutajar was forced out of the party’s parliamentary group last April and became an independent MP after Mark Camilleri published her WhatsApp chat history with Daphne Caruana Galizia murder suspect Yorgen Fenech.
Her recent presence at the PL’s general conference sparked rumours that she could be set for a comeback, and Cutajar refused to rule out such a possibility.
“The PL is my second home and I enjoyed meeting and speaking to people. Obviously one must wait and see what will happen in the future,” she told Lovin Malta.
However, Prime Minister Robert Abela downplayed the significance of Cutajar’s presence, stating that all former PL MPs had been invited to the conference and that her expulsion from the parliamentary group showed he is committed to “high standards”.
