Mosta Main Road Closing For ‘Maximum’ Six Weeks As New Road Works Announced

Mosta Local Council has announced that a large section of Triq il-Kungress Ewkaristiku will be shut for a maximum of six weeks so that the final phase of infrastructural improvements can be completed.

From Monday 29th May, a large chunk of this main road will be closed to complete the installation of “a flood system, new water services and new Enemalta infrastructure improving the distribution of electricity”.

This is the second major road being closed in the north of Malta recently – with the other having caused significant gridlock.

The electricity infrastructure will connect cables from the square’s substation to those substations of Triq Grognet and Triq It-Taħħan.

Triq il-Kungress Ewkaristiku residents will have “limited access to enter and exist their homes” but parking on the closed part of the road will not be possible.

Further information about the bus stops being closed in the area will be provided by the Mosta Local Council in the following days.

A planned diversion will require cars heading up Triq il-Kungress Ewkaristiku towards the square to turn right onto Triq It-Torri and then turn on to Triq L-Oratorju.

This has also led to certain parking bays on Triq L-Oratorju to be removed to reduce traffic congestion – particularly if large vehicles are passing through.
