Motorcyclist At Risk Of Dying After Multi-Car Crash On Marsa-Ħamrun Bypass

A motorcyclist is at risk of dying following a multi-car crash along the Marsa-Ħamrun bypass.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at roughly 2pm after three cars and one motorcycle crashed along the Marsa-Ħamrun bypass.

The motorcyclist, aged 28 and is a resident of Swieqi, was rushed to hospital and is suffering from critical injuries. 

The accident happened after a collision between the motorcycle and two cars, a truck, driven by a 51-year-old Marsa resident, and a Mazda Demio driven by a 19-year-old resident of Mosta. A fourth car crashed into the vehicles following the accident.

Motorists have been told to avoid the area for the time being as traffic piles up in the area. 

A magisterial inquiry has been opened and police investigations are underway.
