Mqabba Man At Risk Of Dying After Freeport Container Accident
A 44-year-old resident of Mqabba is at risk of dying after being involved in a container accident at Malta’s Freeport.
This comes after it was reported that a Freeport worker was hospitalised after getting caught between two containers.
After a medical team was called on-site, it was certified that the man is suffering from serious injuries, and is currently receiving care at Mater Dei Hospital.
Members from the Civil Protection Department were also on-site to assist, along with members from the Police Force.
A magisterial inquiry has been launched, and police investigations are still ongoing.
Freeport said in a statement that the worker was injured while carrying out a routine container loading operation on board a vessel.
