Multiple People Interrogated By Police Last Night As Fresh Details Of Corruption Emerge
The police have confirmed that a number of people were interrogated last night as part of the investigation into the assassination of Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
“In the last few hours, the police have continued to interrogate a number of other people in the case of the homicide of Daphne Caruana Galizia. Investigations are still underway,” the police confirmed with Lovin Malta.
While it is unknown who the people were, new information from police informant and suspected middleman Melvin Theuma, who was yesterday granted a pardon, may have shed new light on the case.
Aside from that, it was reported Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Chief of Staff Keith Schembri had a late-night meeting in Burmarrad last night just as fresh details of alleged corruption were being handed to the police.
While it has yet to be officially confirmed, it is believed that Yorgen Fenech, the businessman currently being held by police, is to be arraigned in court later today.
