‘Mur Inħexa Ma Ministru’: PL Qormi Mayor Pens Satirical Letter To Santa
PL Qormi mayor Josef Masini Vento has penned a satirical letter to Santa in what appears to be a thinly-veiled criticism of Amanda Muscat’s consultancy job.
In Masini’s letter, a young girl tells Santa that she wants a Barbie before explaining her mother’s life advice.
“Mummy tells me that first and foremost, I need to focus on my studies at school, be obedient, and be responsible in life. She also tells me that my future is in my hands, and therefore, I must always strive to reach my goals. That’s what I always do.”
However, ‘Santa’ then responded as follows:
“Dear Pippa, perhaps you don’t know, but Malta no longer falls under my jurisdiction. However, for you, I am willing to make an exception because you seem like a good girl, and your mummy also seems like a very sensible woman.”
“But I would like to give you and your mummy a small piece of advice. This is because, in Malta’s case, everything your mummy tells you doesn’t really apply.”
“If you want to get what you desire, don’t worry too much because there’s only one thing you need to do. When you grow up, cozy up to a Minister (mur inħexa ma Ministru).”
