Murder Suspect Abner Aquilina To His Mother In Court: ‘Don’t Cry’
Murder suspect Abner Aquilina told his mother not to cry as the compilation of evidence in the Paulina Dembska case continued in court in Valletta today.
As sergeants testified that two more women had come forward to reveal that Aquilina had intimidated them via messages on Instagram prior to the alleged rape and murder of Dembska, with more key details surrounded the case being revealed, the 20-year-old murder suspect from Żejtun couldn’t help but address his mother, who was in the room.
In court, it was revealed that Dembska was living in a hostel in Sliema, and on the day she was murdered in Sliema’s Independence Gardens on 2nd January, she was set to extend her stay in the hostel until 15th January.
She lived with three young male roommates from the UK, Belgium and Germany. The Belgian youth told police that the last time he saw Dembska alive was at around 8pm on 1st January.
Following the murder, the room they shared was sealed off with a guard placed outside until investigations ended.
The hostel’s receptionist told police that they had gone down to the hostel’s “chill room” on the evening of the 1st where they found Dembksa and a man having a drink. The receptionist had requested that the man leave the premises as their policy only allowed tenants and lodgers to enter the hostel.
