Nationalist Party Calls For Urgent Parliamentary Meeting As Power Cuts Continue

The ongoing energy crisis has led the Nationalist Party to call for an urgent parliamentary meeting tomorrow.
The PN hopes the session will shed light on the crisis, which it believes stems from the lack of adequate planning by Prime Minister Robert Abela’s government.
This sentiment was echoed by the Nationalist Party’s leader, Bernard Grech, who voiced his concerns in an address to the nation. Grech asserted that the power supply shortages, resulting in continuous power cuts, have been causing significant distress to citizens of all ages.
Grech underlined the importance of accountability and engagement in resolving the crisis, criticising Abela and Energy Minister Miriam Dalli for their “absence” throughout the week.
According to the Nationalist Party’s leader, it is the right of the people to know the truth, to receive an explanation, and to be made aware of the facts surrounding the current crisis.
He emphasised that as a nation, there should be an immediate response to such crises. With the belief that it’s the government’s responsibility to provide a better quality of life to its citizens, which should reflect in its action towards resolving this crisis.
This unfolding situation not only reflects the current energy crisis in Malta but also underlines the growing demand for transparency, accountability, and decisive action from the government.
