Nationalist Party Takes PBS ‘Labour Propaganda Machine’ To Court Over Lack Of Impartial Reporting
Malta’s opposition (PN) has filed a case in court so that the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) does not continue to violate impartiality.
“Through its Secretary-General Michael Piccinino, the PN filed the case so that all citizens receive their right of true and impartial information, as is fitting in a true democracy,” the PN said in a statement.
Dubbing PBS a propaganda machine for Labour, the PN assured that it will not stand for this political censorship.
“The PN will not allow Robert Abela and his government to try to censor those who do not agree with their agenda from Public Broadcasting, which is being used almost like a propaganda machine for Labour,” it continued.
“At the same time, it also wants to ensure that the Broadcasting Authority is not complicit when it fails to take all the necessary measures to truly ensure there is balance in broadcasting.”
The case was signed by lawyers Paul Borg Olivier and Francis Zammit Dimech.
