A Naxxar restaurant has announced it’s closing down this week after “three wonderful years of serving”.

“We at The Daily Grub are sad to announce that we are closing permanently our restaurant as of Sunday 17th July,” restaurateurs Fabian and Anca said, inviting diners over for their last week of opening.

“We would like you to come by so we can say goodbye and enjoy one last burger, pasta and Indian dishes! It was a hard decision to take but we know this is for the better.”

The Daily Grub was known for its mix of global cuisines in a local setting, right behind the Naxxar Parish church.

This is the latest restaurant to announce its closure just this weekend.

Green Sushi, Malta’s first-ever vegan sushi eatery, announced it will close its doors for good in October, warning that the inflation crisis has harmed its operations.

We had a dream of having a restaurant, however, it’s not so possible yet, for many different reasons. Owning a takeaway place is becoming more difficult because of the current inflation situation,” the restaurant said as they announced their winding down.

Do you expect to see more restaurants closing in the coming weeks and months?
