Neville Gafa To Joseph Muscat: ‘Your Place Is In Parliament, Because Your Country Needs You’

A controversial former OPM coordinator has issued a vote of confidence in the wake of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s tense PAC session yesterday.

“It has been a while since I engaged in parliamentary debate like this,” went Muscat’s original post. “It’s a relief to be here.”

In reply, Gafa’ posted: “Your place is in parliament. Not as a whim but because the country needs you. Remember one thing; Malta is behind you. Call us and you will find us at your shoulders.”

Arnold Cassola likened Gafa’ to Russian rogue General Prigozhin who rebelled against President Putin in the past few days, alleging that there is a schism in the PL that is rebelling against Prime Minister Robert Abela.

Muscat was posting in the wake of a grilling by the Parliamentary Accounts Committee over the controversial Electrogas power station deal that his administration lead which ended on an angry note.

After being repeatedly asked by Public Accounts Committee Chair Darren Carrabot about Keith Schembri’s testimony that Konrad Mizzi had told him “I want to do what you do, because everything you touch turns to gold,” Muscat snapped back “if you find no favour with my answer, that is your issue… you cannot expect me to be your parrot.”

He continued, “I can take you any day, anytime, anywhere,” in what sounded like a threat.

The hearing lasted for two hours and the atmosphere was quite hostile with opposition members steering the debate towards the evaluation committee that ultimately decided to award the multi-million project Electrogas while Muscat kept trying to bring up the subject of Egrant.

There have been some signs that Muscat is trying to edge back in into political power and even rumours that he is setting his eyes on forthcoming MEP elections.

Do you think we will get to see Joseph Muscat back in power?
