New Direct Flights To Warsaw And An Open Door To More! Malta Welcomes LOT Polish Airlines

Malta is set to become even more connected to the world as LOT Polish Airlines announces a brand new direct route between Malta and Warsaw, launching on 16th April 2025.
The route will operate four times a week, linking Malta International Airport with Warsaw Chopin Airport, and opening up smooth access to LOT’s extensive international network — including destinations like New York, Chicago, Toronto, Delhi, Tokyo, and Stockholm.
Flights will be operated by a mix of Boeing 737 and Embraer 195 aircraft, with two optimised departure slots per week for maximum flexibility — whether you’re travelling for business or just escaping for a well-earned break.
“We are delighted that Malta will soon be added to LOT Polish Airlines’ global route network,” said Michal Fijol, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines. “We’re not only offering reliable connections and Polish hospitality, but also convenient onward travel to Europe, Central Asia, India, the Far East, Canada, and the US.”
Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef welcomed the move, calling it a “milestone” for Malta’s tourism growth: “This new service gives us better access not just to Poland, but to the wider North American, Asian, and Northern European markets. Improved air connectivity is crucial to the future of our tourism sector — and we’re excited to welcome LOT passengers to Malta all year round.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg described the route as an important step in Malta’s long-term strategy to strengthen global connections and ensure sustainable, year-round tourism: “With LOT’s vast network, we’re now better placed to tap into new markets across North America and Asia. This aligns with our goal to diversify and expand Malta’s tourism potential.”
As Malta continues to position itself as a Mediterranean hub, this new link with Warsaw is expected to bring even more visitors to enjoy the island’s rich culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes.
The MTA said it remains committed to building strong global partnerships that drive sustainable tourism and economic development.
