New Saplings And Monument In Memory Of Pelin Kaya To Be Placed In Gżira
Pelin Kaya’s family and closest friends are set to plant new saplings and place a monument in her memory on Wednesday, on the site of the fatal car crash.
30-year-old Pelin was tragically murdered at the beginning of this year after being at the centre of a horrifying car crash in Gżira.
Since then, alleged murderer Jeremie Camilleri, who was high on cocaine at the time of the incident, has been charged with wilful homicide.
“On 15th March at 7.30, we will be planting saplings in the Gżira Independence Gardens for our dearest Pelin.”
“There was an oak tree planted for Pelin but it was vandalised so we will be planting many more for her soul,” one of Pelin’s closest friends told Lovin Malta.
“Then, her family will be placing a memorial stone for Pelin where she died in Gżira, in front of the KFC, together with Mayor Conrad Borg Manche at 8pm,” she explained.
Present for the occasion, there will also be a priest from the Gżira church and a Muslim priest to pray for her together.
Her loved ones are appealing for members of the public to join them in this commemoration of her soul and life, which was taken away from her so suddenly.
“We would like to invite you all to join us in order to honour her soul and send our prayers.”
The day after the memorial, Pelin’s trial will continue, with Camilleri back in court.
