Police swooped in on a barn by the Marsa-Ħamrun bypass this morning after it was found to have been housing some 40 migrants.

According to ONE News, police found 27 people inside the barn this morning. They reportedly asked them to produce documentation but one of the migrants refused to do so.

The 27 people have been taken into custody pending investigations.

This case has echoes of when over 100 migrants were found living in a cow farm in Ħal Qormi last summer, with their evictions rendering many of them homeless.
