UPDATED: Car Explosion Reported In Msida

A man has been badly injured after a car exploded at 10:30 this morning in Msida. 

The incident took place in Marina Street, right near the Workers’ Monument. According to the report by Times of Malta, the car blew up, and then caught fire.

The victim has been identified as Romeo Bone, a 40-year-old man from Floriana, who is “well known to the police“, and is currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.

This explosion comes less than a month after another car bomb was set off in Marsa, killing a 65-year-old man on January 29th.
