Breaking: Minister Who Gave No-Work Job To Caruana Galizia’s Killer Is Now Police Minister
Police Minister Michael Farrugia was the minister responsible for the no-work job that was given to Melvin Theuma, the middleman in the Daphne Caruana Galizia assassination.
Theuma was given a job contract with the Family Ministry on May 1st 2017, a public holiday in which Joseph Muscat had announced a snap election.
After Muscat won the election he appointed Farrugia, a family doctor, as Minister responsible for the police and secret service.
Labour insiders who are speaking to Lovin Malta said this finally explains to them why a family doctor was given the national security portfolio.
“We all expected Michael Falzon to become Minister of Police. In fact we joked that there must have been a mistake with the surname,” sources told Lovin Malta.
Theuma this morning told court he was given the job through the Prime Minister’s then Chief of Staff Keith Schembri and received monthly cheques even though he never showed up for the job.
“I still have no idea what the job was,” Theuma told the court.
The job contract was published in the past hour showing he was employed as a messenger/driver within the Housing Maintenance and Embellishment Company.
Lovin Malta tried to reach Farrugia for comment but he did not answer his phone. Nor did Gavin Gulia who is the company’s secretary.
