Comino’s Six Senses project permit has just been approved by the Planning Authority.

All board members voted in favour, except the representative of the Għajnsielem council.

The project by HV Hospitality (a subsidiary of Hili Ventures) will see the full redevelopment of the 1960s hotel and bungalows currently present on the island’s San Niklaw and Santa Marija Bays.

Set to involve an investment of €170 million, the project has seen some changes in the years since it was first announced, including the number of bungalows (from 21 down to 16) and total guest numbers (from 284 to 240).

Six Senses is promising to bring a “world-class hotel” to the island of Comino while improving public access and restoring surrounding garigue habitats, with the project’s design being entrusted to Belvedere Architecture.
