A 78-year-old man from Birgu has died after succumbing to injuries he sustained in a traffic accident two weeks ago.

The man was run over by a Ford Escort in Triq Santa Tereża, Bormla at around 6am on 24th September. The driver of the vehicle was later identified as a 37-year-old man from Kalkara.

He was rushed to hospital and was later on that day confirmed to be fighting for his life, but he has now tragically succumbed to his injuries.
