Opposition leader Adrian Delia has removed Simon Busuttil from his shadow Cabinet in light of the publication of the Egrant inquiry.

“The PN had made the Egrant allegations its own and I have therefore asked Simon Busuttil to shoulder political responsibility and suspend himself from our parliamentary group to focus on the ongoing inquiries,” Delia told a press conference. “I have immediately removed him as shadow minister for good governance and took the portfolio myself. The fight against corruption is an important one and no one is bigger than the party or the country.”

Delia said he accepts the findings of magistrate Aaron Bugeja but called on Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to publish the inquiry result in full. He also called on him to take action against Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi and his chief of staff Keith Schembri – who were found to have opened Panama companies.
