Van Mows Down Pedestrians Near London Bridge, While 200 Are Injured In Turin Stampede
London Bridge was evacuated tonight following reports that a white van mounted the pavement and drove into pedestrians, injuring several people. Details are still scarce but meanwhile there have also been reports of another incident at Borough Market.
News of the London incidents came at the same time as reports emerged of another incident in Turin where a stampede injured some 200 people who were gathered to watch the Champions League final.
Ten minutes before the end of the match, a blast from fireworks triggered some to fear a bomb had gone off, causing a stampede out of the city’s Piazza San Carlo, where fans were watching Juventus compete in the Champions League final. Police said some 200 people had needed hospital treatment with two of them in a serious condition.
Net News has reported that there were two Maltese people among the Juventus fans who were injured. All Maltese people at the event have been urged to report to the Maltese Embassy in Italy for assistance.
