Yorgen Fenech has been granted police bail hours before the 48-hour deadline for the police to release or charge him arrives, Newsbook has reported.

According to Newsbook, Fenech was seen driving out of the police headquarters at around 8:30pm, but the conditions of his police bail are as yet unknown.

Fenech was arrested yesterday as he tried to sail away from Malta in connection with the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
