The best friends of the 10-year-old Maltese girl who lost her life in a tragic road accident this week have opened up about their friend and recounted the touching last words Elisa Buhagiar ever said to them.
“She had spoken to me, and she told me: Marya, I’ll always be with you, and I’m always going to love you as a friend,” Marya Mizzi, emotionally revealed.
Elisa said these words on Thursday, just hours before the tragic accident that claimed her life.
In an interview with ONE News, Marya and another friend Maya Camilleri, spoke about the time they would spend with Elisa, the “hit” they felt when they found out she had been killed, and how they would always cherish their experience of rehearsing for a school concert that they were so looking forward to together.
“I had a big shock when our parents began messaging each other and saying it’s Elisa. I’ve known her since Kindergarten, and we were good friends,” a saddened Maya said. “She had such a good heart, she helped everyone, even people she didn’t know.”
