Malta’s representative to Miss Universe has let us in to her weekly schedule ahead of the big show, and it includes everything you’d expect, plus some more.

Teresa Ruglio, the Venezuelan model living in Sliema chosen to be Miss Universe Malta, broke down all the different aspects of being a top international model. Balancing her mental and physical health, her routine gives an insight into what it takes to represent beauty internationally.

1. She goes to the gym five times a week and cooks all her own meals

Having full control of her food intake allows her to better gauge any weight changes.

2. And she also practices her catwalk five times a week

That’s when she isn’t attending events or photoshoots, of course.

 

3. She fits in volunteering work every week

She’s even worked with Maltese children during the summer.

 

4. And she works on her speech quite a bit

Aside from taking English lessons to improves her speaking and reading, she also attends motivational speaking classes once a week, which, amongst other things, teaches her to use humour in her language.

She often uploads videos where she challenges herself to speak in English as well.

5. Importantly, she places a lot of focus on developing herself

She meditates and tries to be grounded every day, but before that, she makes sure she wakes up with determination and confidence.

Teresa tries to feel happy and grateful for everything she encounters on her ‘journey’ to the top.
