Beloved Activist Bjorn Formosa Rushed To Emergency: ‘Things Are Getting Really Hard For Me’
ALS activist and sufferer Bjorn Formosa was rushed to Mater Dei’s emergency department yesterday after suffering from respiratory failure due to aspirational pneumonia.
In an emotional Facebook status, Bjorn said that all his scheduled meetings for this week have not been cancelled, but have been relocated to Mater Dei.
“Things are getting really hard for me, but in these terrible moments we must make one special effort to reach our ultimate goal,” he said. “The newer and bigger Dar Bjorn is coming soon. Help us realise our ultimate dream.”
Bjorn is the brains behind Dar Bjorn, the Qormi house for patients suffering from ALS and other neurological conditions. After completing that house in 2017, he instantly embarked on a second project – a Dar Bjorn 2 in Ħaż-Żebbuġ that will create a boutique hotel and hospital environment for up to 50 patients.
