Bjorn Formosa’s Wife Urges Him To Keep On Fighting After Worrying Operation Setback
Bjorn Formosa’s wife has urged her husband to keep on fighting after he revealed his latest post-operation recovery isn’t going as planned and that he now feels closer to death.
“My beloved husband, I will never leave your side not even in the hardest of times and its my pleasure, my passion, the reason I am living to be just right close at your side,” Maria Formosa said on Bjorn’s Facebook wall. “I will carry this burden with you whilst hoping it makes you feel somewhat better. Now lets gather ourselves straight and lets fight this, I know that there’s still the warrior I married in you. Our mission is still on; let’s do it!”
Bjorn underwent a tracheostomy last month, and initial fears that this operation would result in him losing his voice were later allayed.
However, the popular ALS activist admitted in a Facebook post today that things haven’t gone according to plan and that he is now back in hospital “feeling worse than ever before”.
“I feel breathless, feverish, dizzy, just a total mess,” he said. “Two days before the op, I was pushing barriers with my wheelchair. My old beloved mask used to do miracles for me. Now I feel like I have just accelerated infinitely my journey to the inevitable. It is a whole agony of suffering. I just feel terrible for Maria to have her endure all of this with me. She just deserves the best from this world.”
Bjorn once again urged the public to donate money to fund the construction of a second, larger Dar Bjorn to house patients suffering from ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases.
“I am posting because I don’t want my death to be in vain,” he said. “I am going to try to make it and I am begging for your help to help me help those in need. I want to sacrifice my life leaving an indelible mark behind me. On Friday the 19th of October, help me open the Xarabank Newer Bigger DAR Bjorn. Thank you for everything.”
