The St Joseph’s school in-Blata l-Bajda has cancelled its annual school play after one of its students died in a tragic traffic accident yesterday.

The 10-year-old girl, who has been identified as Elisa Buhagiar, died in a car crash in Manikata, near Popeye Village, yesterday afternoon.

The girl’s father was behind the wheel of the car and, according to ONE News, he had lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall. The car overturned and ended up crashing into another vehicle that was being driven by a 35-year-old woman from Mellieħa.

The father and another 10-year-old girl, believed to be Elisa Buhagiar’s friend, both survived the accident.
