Halfway There! Neil Agius Hits 80-Kilometre Mark As Second Consecutive Night Of Swimming Approaches
As the sun sets on the second consecutive day of his epic swim, Neil Agius has officially completed the halfway point of his Big Swim, hitting 80 kilometres as he makes his way around the sister island of Gozo.
Neil’s parents were with him when he approached the milestone, silently watching on and supporting him as he stopped for one of his very regular feeds, this time just off the coast of Dwejra.

Neil left on his swim from Mellieħa Bay yesterday morning just after 9am, going round the entirety of mainland Malta. By the time Lovin Malta caught up with him this morning for his 24-hour mark, he was already making his way to Gozo.
If he completes his behemoth task, Neil will not only be the first person to swim around the entire Maltese Archipelago (which is around 104km), but will also break his own previous world record (that of 125.7km), eventually finishing the insane 160 kilometres.
