‘His Every Step Is Conscious’: Pelin Kaya’s Sister Urges Life In Prison For Jeremie Camilleri

Derya Kaya said that she’s sure that the Maltese Courts will sentence Jeremie Camilleri to life imprisonment, following the news of his admission of guilt to the voluntary killing of her sister, Pelin Kaya.
“We already knew that he was a murderer, this barbaric murder committed in front of our eyes definitely served a purpose. He is not sick, his every step is conscious,” Derya told Lovin Malta.
“We lost Pelin and we will never be the winners. Our entire war was to prevent this brutal murderer from returning to the streets and touching innocent people.”
“I’m sure they will sentence this evil man to life imprisonment.”
Camilleri pleaded guilty this morning to the callous murder of Pelin who was just an hour into her 30th birthday when he ran over her before ramming into the KFC outlet in Gżira.
Court experts revealed that Camilleri had not pressed the breaks when hitting the Turkish national and that he tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis.
The Maltese national pleaded guilty earlier today following a pact agreement reached between the prosecution, the defence, and the civil party.
A sentence is expected to be handed in the coming hours.
Speaking to local reporters, the Kaya family’s lawyer said that the pain will never leave their hearts. The only thing that this admission will do is stop the family from having to come to Malta for hearings which would reopen these deep wounds.
Lovin Malta extends its deepest condolences to Pelin’s family
