Heartfelt tributes are pouring in for Matthew Naudi, an educator and adventure organiser who died after succumbing to illness.

Naudi was an LSE and prefect at St Aloysius and the founder of Whiz Team Adventure, which organises team-building adventure activities.

St Aloysius Rector Fr Jimmy Bartolo said he was shocked and speechless at the news.

“Thank you for all you have done with so many St Aloysius students and colleagues,” he said. “Thank you for your attention, love and care you had as an LSE and a division prefect. Thank you for your love for life, sports and adventure.”

“Thank you for remaining positive until the very end, even when faced with illness and suffering. Thank you for your faith. Now rest in eternal peace that God can give you.”

Other educators, students and people who knew Naudi also posted their tributes and shared their memories of the man.

Last month, Naudi published an emotional post from hospital in which he expressed his determination to fight through his illness.

“Life presents us with unexpected journeys and stories from which we have the opportunity to become a better version of ourselves,” he had said. “Experiences through which we renew hope against despair, and courage against fear of the unknown.”

“A life to believe in the true values of fellowship, compassion, respect, love and care.

“Thank you to my family, friends (old & new), colleagues, comrades, doctors and nurses (especially M3) for having my back for this past month.”

“Your prayers, messages, visits and resounding daily support keeps my spirit high and gives me more strength and resilience!  I’m very grateful to the creator for giving me such blessings.”

“I am also privileged to have had the best role model and teacher in my life who never gave up. We reap what we sow in this life and aftermath! Life loves me and I love life. Thank you everyone! There is so much good in this world, worth fighting for!”
