Help Make A Difference: Sports4Kate Fundraiser For A Courageous Young Girl With A Rare Syndrome

Mark your calendars, on Sunday 18th May, Malta is coming together for a cause that’s as heartwarming as it is powerful.
Sports4Kate is more than just a sports day, it’s a full-on celebration of community, courage, and compassion in support of Kate, a six-year-old girl battling an incredibly rare condition called Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome (TBRS).
With only 1 in 7 million affected worldwide and Kate being the only person known with her specific variant, her journey is unlike any other. She requires intensive, often international, therapy to keep moving forward. That’s where Sports4Kate steps in.
So, what’s happening on the day?
Location: MEYR Centre for PE & Sport, Ħamrun
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Get ready for a jam-packed day of activities for all ages, including:
- Football, basketball, volleyball, martial arts, boxing, bounce fitness, yoga, and more
- Live entertainment from top local singers and DJs
- Meet-and-greet moments with local athletes and familiar faces
- A kids’ zone filled with crafts and games
- Raffle prizes and auctions featuring items donated by local and international stars
- Delicious food stalls to keep you fuelled throughout the day
Why it matters:
Kate’s family has been documenting her inspiring story on Instagram and Facebook under Kate: Writing My Story, where thousands follow her day-to-day progress and unwavering determination.
Behind the scenes is a dedicated team of volunteers who regularly organise events to fund Kate’s therapies, equipment, and specialised care abroad.
It’s about raising awareness for TBRS, building community support, and giving this extraordinary little girl a shot at a better future, while promoting the importance of physical activity and togetherness.
