Hundreds Of Tributes Pour In After ‘Exceptional’ Nine-Year-Old Maltese Boy Miguel Passes Away
A nine-year-old boy named Miguel Damato has passed away, leaving everyone who knew him and a massive online community heartbroken. Puttinu Cares, an organisation that supports sick children broke the sad news today, calling him an “exceptional boy…educated, handsome, smart and determined”.
“In such a short time Miguel left such an impact on all that knew him. With a broken heart we hope you rest in peace and pray for your parents from heaven,” the foundation said.
The news was met with a flood of reactions from the public and those who knew him.
“I knew Miguel from last summer school,” a young Maltese girl wrote. “He was in my class. And he was such a nice boy – always laughing and making others laugh.”
“It must be extremely hard for those poor parents but now he is free, happy and has a glorious eternity praying for them,” another comment said, with dozens of people offering their condolences to Miguel’s family.
In a separate post, Birkirkara FC posted a tribute to the nine-year-old, who played with the team’s Youth Academy.
“The President, Committee, and everyone involved in Birkirkara FC would like to send the condolences to the family and friends of our Youth Academy player, Miguel Damato,” a Facebook post read.
“Miguel will be always remembered in the Youth Academy for his smile and immense love for football. He will be deeply missed by everyone.”
