It’s A Miracle! Archbishop Charles Scicluna Gets Unexpected Surprise As He Downs His Chalice

It has been said that Jesus has the power to turn water into wine, but turning wine into whiskey is decidedly non-canon.

Yet whiskey somehow made its way into Archbishop Charles Scicluna’s chalice as he celebrated Mass at the St John’s Co-Cathedral this morning to kick off the beatification process of the late Maltese Lasallian brother Louis Camilleri.

Scicluna could be heard muttering to his fellow priests that the chalice actually contained whiskey, prompting one of them to taste it for himself and agree that it actually is whiskey.

The video was originally uploaded by the Curia but has since been pulled down. Thankfully, a copy of the clip is still available on the website of the Times of Malta, which quoted a Church spokesperson as describing it as an “unfortunate incident by the sacristans”.
