It’s The Little Things! Candid Photo Of Maltese Police Officer Lifting Kids In This Morning’s Rain Goes Viral
Very strong winds and constant rain showers have dominated most of this week in Malta, but for a lot of hard workers out in the streets, it was just business as usual. For one police officer, this morning turned out to be an unconcious opportunity to go viral.
A photo currently making the rounds online sees a Maltese police officer lifting school children to make sure they don’t get soaked in the rain.
The candid snap was initially shared by the official Police Officers Union Facebook page, who praised the officer – PC268 James Farrugia – for the “small but important gesture”, but it didn’t take long for a lot of people to chime in.
Within minutes, the photo had amassed over 200 likes and a dozen shares, with many people praising the simple act that helped parents during the busy, stormy morning.
“The misfortune in life is that only the negative stuff gets reported,” one person said. “There’s so much good in this world. Let’s be positive.”
“Thanks so much to this police officer and his colleague who even helped my children while I held my young girl in my hands,” one grateful mother commented. “We appreciate the hard work people like them do every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, sir. For you it was something small, but for me it was a lot.”
