Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s dog was granted the honour of being the first creature to cross a new pink and white zebra crossing today.

Ħabiba, along with the Prime Minister’s wife Michelle Muscat and Transport Minister Ian Borg, launched the zebra crossing in Qawra, which is intended to raise awareness for breast cancer.

The new zebra crossing is an initiative of the Marigold Foundation, which Michelle Muscat chairs, to coincide with Pink October, a global breast cancer awareness campaign. A number of buildings will also be lit up in pink this month and some activities will be held, the first of which will be a bike ride in Floriana on Sunday.
