Listen: ‘You United The Nation’ – Peppi Azzopardi’s Poetic Tribute To Karl Gouder
Prominent journalist and social commentator Peppi Azzopardi has shared a short but heartfelt to Karl Gouder, the 45-year-old PN official who he described as having united the nation.
“Karl, oh how you shocked us, Karl how dear you are, Karl, with your love, you united a country,” Azzopardi said in a poem published on Xarabank’s social media this morning.

Gouder’s sudden death on Tuesday, just two days after he had declared his intention to run for the post of PN secretary general, sent shockwaves through Malta’s political landscape and beyond.
Yesterday, in what was a rare and poignant scene which acted as perfect proof of the love and respect Gouder commanded, Prime Minister Robert Abela and a number of PL officials visited PN’s Dar Ċentrali, signing a condolence book for the 45-year-old.
Karl Gouder will be laid to rest tomorrow morning, with a mass at the St Julian’s parish church.
Rest In Peace Karl.
