It must have been a daunting prospect for 24-year-old Maltese tattoo artist Shawn Grech. Former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise, renowned as part of the legendary team which lifted the Champions League in 2005, trusted him with inking a complex tattoo on his left arm.
The process lasted over nine hours, during which Grech tattooed a picture resembling Zeus and the slogan ‘Brother For Life’ on Riise’s arm, reworking some of the former footballer’s older tattoos in the process.
Riise shared the tattoo process on his Twitter feed and posed with Grech once it was all done.
