Malta Police Asks If They Should Be Allowed Tattoos On Their Faces, Necks And Arms

Tattoos are all the rage in Malta at the moment and it seems as though the police force wants to join in on the fun.

The Malta Police Force published a Facebook poll today, complete with edited images, asking the public if officers should be allowed to sport tattoos and facial hair.

Seeing as tattoos which are concealed by uniforms are already permitted, the poll is basically trying to gauge public opinion on whether police officers should also be allowed tattoos on their arms, faces and necks.

The poll has since been closed but around 600 people had responded to it, out of which 80% said they agreed, which seems quite indicative.

If the Malta police force does indeed relax its tattoo policy, it will be following in the footsteps of the UK Metropolitan Police, which last year decided to allow new recruits with visible tattoos in certain cases.
