Malta Wins Miss Princess Of The World, Beating 39 Other Countries
Dajana Laketic, a 26-year-old Serbian-Maltese woman from Swatar was crowned Miss Princess of the World 2017. Laketic won the competition, which was hosted aboard the MSC Meraviglia cruise liner, also bagging two other titles; Miss Bikini and Best National Costume.
Dajana is an HR Manager and speaks seven languages; Maltese, English, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Macedonian and Croatian. This was her fifth time representing Malta abroad.
Of the 40 total candidates from all over the world, Malta joined the 8 “super finalists” who were chosen to fly to Barcelona and board the cruise liner for the final ceremony. Argentina came second, followed by Slovakia in third place.
The contest, which was first held in 2005, had several prizes on offer. Dajana won a cash prize, an apartment in the Czech Republic for a whole year, flights and accommodation to Canada, several designer dresses by Jirina Tuchmanova, various beauty products and many more.
Malta’s national directors in the pageant are Alan J. Darmanin and Jeff Francalanza from Glow Promotions. Dajan was crowned by the ship’s captain and by the president of the competition, Viktor Krca.
