Alexander Mangion, Malta’s first elected transgender politician, got married to his long-term sweetheart yesterday evening.
Alex, an Attard councillor and PN candidate in last year’s election, tied the knot with Josianne Gauci in a beautiful sunset ceremony at the Eden Lodge in Żurrieq.
Several well-known Nationalist politicians were in attendance, including leader Adrian Delia, deputy leader David Agius, MPs Ryan Callus and Karl Gouder, and executive committee president Mark Anthony Sammut.

“THANK YOU! A short thank you goes to all the guests who came and took the time to celebrate our special day with us,” Alex posted the day after the wedding. “Appreciation and gratitude is something I definitely NEVER take for granted. Your presence made all the difference and was very appreciated. Thank you for your presence, calls & messages. Thanks to those who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. A truly AMAZING wedding indeed. It exceeded our expectations.”
