Mater Dei Emergency Department Wins Team Of The Year Award For Their Hard Work And Dedication To Saving People’s Lives

The Emergency Department at Mater Dei has been awarded Team of the Year at this year’s edition of The Worker of the Year National Awards.
An award is just a fraction of appreciation society has toward the Emergency Department who end up sacrificing a lot in order to save the lives of others… and you never hear them complain about it either.
Having to deal with an average of 300 patients per day is no easy task and this stat alone justifies why this department deserved an award…
… and this time their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.
“We are very proud of our Emergency Department team who deliver the highest quality care, even when faced with record demand,” Mater Dei Hospital posted in a Facebook status.
Yet despite what obstacles are placed in front of them, the Emergency Department knows that nothing can trump the satisfaction that comes with saving a life.
“Knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life is enough – the day people come to the emergency department is usually the worst day of their lives and knowing that we have helped a little to ease the discomfort, pain or fear, gives me great satisfaction,” Charles Fenech, ambulance team leader told TVM.
