‘Now Persy Knows Love’: Post Of Praise Gives Thanks To Those Who Rescued Dog Dumped In Skip

Six weeks ago, Animal Welfare officers responded to a tip-off that an injured dog had been dumped in a skip. The dog was rushed to a veterinary hospital in critical condition, but luckily, he recovered well, despite needing a leg amputated.

He’s now being cared for by a foster family who are taking every opportunity to give him all of the good things in life he’d clearly missed out on. They started with a name. Persy (Percy) is short for perseverance, which is a perfect name for the canine who has shown nothing but resilience in his journey of recovery.

Foster mum Yanika has also spoiled Persy with toys and treats, and he’s been adapting very well to his new, unfortunate, stance. Yanika had stepped up to the job of fostering almost immediately after a post was made on Facebook, seeking a foster home for a three-legged friend.

The Facebook post praised everyone involved in the rescue operation, saying “Thank you to the kind person who did not look away, to Animal Welfare and the officers on duty that night, to Konrad Ellul for his valuable work with these innocents and last but by far not the least, to APH Hospital and the staff who saved his life and took good care of him.”
